Creating Art with Shadows | Art Attack with Ms. Carly
The shape of an object always determines the shape of its shadow. However, the size and clarity of the shadow can change as the light source changes size or moves. A smaller light like from a flashlight forms a more distinct (sharp) shadow than an large overhead room light (which will have 'fuzzy' edges). As the light's position changes, the shadow will appear to get longer or shorter. Think about the sun in the sky changing your shadow on the ground as it travels throughout the day. Play with a light source to vary an object's shadow and use it to create unique artwork.
You’ll need:
A light source, like a bright window or flashlight
An object with a unique shape
Pencil or colored markers
Paper
Paint
