Pop Art | Art Attack
Reproduce, recolor, repeat—Let's make Pop Art!
Andy Warhol is considered the most famous pop artist. His work consists of printed images of regular, everyday items. Pop art is "popular culture art" embodying the new, post-war American lifestyle. All over the world, from the late 1950s through the 60s, artists looked to advertising, commercials, processed food, comic books, and celebrity news for inspiration. After World War 2, people had time and money to spend on mass-produced commercial items. Television replaced radio as the primary media outlet, causing more visual recognition and attention to be placed on new products and celebrities.
Ms. Carly will show you how to make a bold work of art in the style of Andy Warhol. Find an image in your everyday life and make it art!
